abberior MOUNT, SOLID ANTIFADE, 2 x 15 ml

Item number
MM-2013-2X15ML

Description

abberior MOUNT embedding media are aqueous embedding media with a refractive index in the range of 1.38. They are very convenient in terms of application. However, due to evaporation of contained water and polymerisation of the embedding medium, the refractive index will change over time.

abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE is an aqueous mounting medium designed for confocal and superresolution microscopy.
The refractive index (before hardening) is identical to that of many biological samples (n=1.38). Specimen mounting using abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE is convenient since no dilution series is required. After specimen mounting, the embedding medium is hardening. So sealing of the mounted specimen with nail polish or similar is not required.

Mounting Procedure:

  • Please store abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE between 4 °C and -20 °C after arrival
  • Prewarm abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE to room temperature before mounting samples.
  • Remove excess buffer from samples before adding abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE. If the sample is based on a coverslip, this can be done by placing the edge of the coverslip on a piece of tissue. After the coverslips have been mounted on a slide the surface can be carefully dried with a piece of tissue.
  • Mounted samples can be imaged after a few minutes. However, complete curing of abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE takes up to 24 h at room temperature. We recommend to store ready made slides at 4 °C in the dark.
  • In case the abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE has solidified during storage, please heat the bottle to 50 °C – 65 °C for 15 min. ! Please avoid heating it over 70 °C ! After abberior MOUNT SOLID ANTIFADE has liquified, it can be applied as beforehand. Function will be not affected through those steps.
